NxCD 'Perceive' considerations

Validation and unlearning
UnlearningOne of the great bonuses and challenges of starting a new church is that people don't come with reset buttons. That is to say that while you may be 'starting' a new church, there are an awful lot of set behaviours, beliefs, gifts and experiences that each person brings to the new group. In short, as a new church you come with a ready made level of health as a Christian community. In NCD terms, Minimum Factors, Maximum Factors... the whole lot is there as soon as you start. Of course this depends on some very basic efforts taking place with respect to leadership, ministry, spirituality, structures, worship, small groups, evangelism and relationships. If any of these are not taking place then perhaps the question for this stage is "Why not?"

Knitted together - not cut by a biscuit cutter
Prepare for the surveyThere is no other gathering on Earth like your new gathering. Rejoice in that. Allow the universal principles discovered through NCD to guide you to what spirituality, worship, structures, evangelism and all the other areas look like in your unique context. Take this opportunity to try and Perceive God's path for your group and then test your fruit to find out if you are way off track or perhaps on the crest of something magnificent.

Experiencing as one body
Right from the start of your journey it could be of great advantage to connect with other NxCD churches either directly or through an NCD Regional Gathering for mutual learning and encouragement.
